From POSB to Income, PAP
Shifting caring and concerns;
Shifting needs and associations.
No more. People’s bank. People’s insurance. People’s party.
POSB was once a people’s bank.
Income was once a people’s insurance.
PAP was once a people’s party. Lawrence Wong admits it is no more a dominant party.
Time changes. Income increase. Better education. People are looking for alternatives for their needs and associations while considering social caring and concern.
More money, more income. People look beyond basic banking services, beyond simple insurance products. So on the political front, people look for different voices.
With better education and social media, people demand different needs and associations. The historical duties of POSB and Income have to share with other financial institutions. In the political landscape, people want more alternative voices in parliament.
It is sad to see the original value of PAP, POSB and Income decline. But alternatives and replacements have to step in. While the PAP is no longer the dominant party, other parties have to come forward. Perhaps, this is the meaning of Forward Singapore, Progress Singapore and First World Parliament.
