  12 years have passed, the Rich-Poor gap, living cost, housing problems remain… Tharman, why do you run away from your government duty? And what have you done to improve?   The rich-poor gap remains. Living costs, housing,  jobs, and even child births and education have failed to improve.  As part of the government leadership, you have not completed your jobs and duties.      People have high expectations on you, rather than Halimah.   Her change of positions, from speaker to president,  made no difference.  But you are different .  You can make changes, influence policies, but you are no longer able to do so.  You said your experience inside and outside Singapore can be good used if you are elected.  Yes.  It is good public relations for your campaign.  After the election, everything remains the same. Job done!   Oh! Your international experience is too skewed to the western world....

  平常心，冥思，国际观。 三个候选人，三种人生经历。 哪一个跟百姓最接近？ 三个候选人，有什么值得学习的地方？一颗平常心，接地气，地铁巴士德士，很容易很自然的了解普通人的日常生活。冥思静坐，可以让我们放慢脚步，放松自己。休息一下，走更加长的路。国际观，世界经济、政治、社会的变迁，肯定会影响我们，小国如何应对大世界，地缘政治的角力。 一般人都忙于工作，养儿育女，照顾父母。遇到提名日这样的大日子，除非有巴士接送，特别安排，很难抽空出席。难怪，这么庄严的提名日，只有不到一千人出席。真的只有这么少人关心吗？不是，因为总统选举不会换政府，只是换一个国家象征人物。关心度就比全国大选来得低。 尚达曼的国际观，无法改变政府的施政方针，他甚至不可以干涉、监督政府。宪法里写得很清楚，尚达曼当然明白。作为前资深部长，回报社会，反馈民情，有个度。他只能做表面的形象工作罢了。如果要改变，还是需要回到政府中去。黄国松就认为，尚达曼败选，可以回到政府中去，继续贡献国家。 我们是普通人，需要平常心过日子。冥思静坐很好，国际观也应该具有，但是，我们还没有达到瑞士生活水平，贫富悬殊，生活压力大，中产阶级面临威胁，透不过气，冥思和国际观解决不了温饱，衣食住行。

  Rich, Poor and Elite are successfully nominated. Who would you like to be your president? Three candidates representing the poor, the rich and the elite.  Two claim they are independent.  Two are endorsed by the PAP directly or indirectly.  Two have experience in reserve, only one with insurance and speaking out for CPF, HDB, cost of living. When Tommy Koh said he supported Tharman. Is he supporting someone representing the rich, the poor or the elite?   I don’t know.  He said he knows all three candidates.  Surely that means something.  You see “Ong Lai” pineapples.  You see “Ah Huat”.  You see money flying around.  But where does the money come from?  GST, CPF, HDB, COE, … Vote wisely. Vote Tan Kin Lian who represents the poor.    

  从体制内走向体制外，尚达曼真的能够团结国人，更好的代表新加坡吗？ 从副总裁到名誉董事长，以尚达曼的执行力，应该升任总裁，而不是名誉董事长。他是从行动党的权力中心，向外移动，渐行渐远。因此，对于行动党的决策，未来方向，插不上手。人们希望他在体制内协助改变改善国人的生活，他却失信于人，宁愿做个跑龙套的大材小用。 尚达曼试图说服国人，总统宝座依然可以团结国人，鼓励国人相互敬重。 事实上，政府的政策才可以做到这点。我们拿一个小小的收拾碗碟为例，如何在敬重国人下做到自动自发，最后还不是罚款了事。大一点的消费税，组屋问题，总统更加无权过问。 那么，代表国家呢 ？尚达曼其实最适合担任国际组织的领导，为新加坡增光。他在国际货币组织，在国际金融界有很高的地位。如果以大材小用形容他出任总统，同样的，他在国际上也可以发挥更大的光辉。国内国外，尚达曼陷入大材小用的困境。而他委屈自己，只是为党服务而已。还是，他有说不出的苦衷？ 信任 。尚达曼如何取信国人，在体制内，他才能够发挥更加大的影响力，制定政策，更加深入的团结国人。只有体制内才可以改变和改善国人生活，因为政府的政策影响国人。尚达曼相互敬重的说法，很难令人信服。甚至，他连自己也没有敬重。 这么做，更加让人不信任人民行动党政府，也不相信尚达曼。 希望 。期待改变，却做不到，这是尚达曼的悲哀。他最适合的工作是总理，而不是总统。新加坡人不介意印度族的尚达曼出任总统，但是对于他争取担任总统却意见多多。 从希望变成失望，尚达曼为何要在这六年一次的总统闹剧中担任男主角，的确令人费解？ 难道，行动党找不到一个适合的华族代表吗？上一次，来一个非马非印的人担任总统后，人民普遍期待华人出任总统。 行动党再一次让人失望。 一个受人尊敬的总统荣光，竟然沦落到六年一度的政治闹剧，让人不禁唏嘘 。即使是公认的人才，国家第一把手的人选，最后，也只好扮演陪跑，跑龙套的小丑。天时地利人和终究不站在尚达曼这边，即使顺利当选，也继续跑龙套。对于尊贵的最高国家象征--总统，是一种羞辱。 年复一年的闹剧，羞辱，只有让行动党翻车，才可能有所突破、改变。信任回来，希望重现。

  No Place For Elon Musk or Steve Jobs. Singapore’s “More Fearful of Failure” reflects in the coming Presidential Election. Singapore is still not prepared to take risks.  When we become richer, we are more fearful of failure.   In the coming Presidential Election, the entrepreneur, George Goh, is disqualified.  Oh! No, you cannot simply group five companies into one and make up the number. We are not prepared to take up this kind of risk or leverage where one can grow businesses bigger and bigger.  So, when we manage our reserves, we are very conservative, even more ‘kiasu’ than insurance companies.   一场打工皇帝的选举？ 总统候选人合格证书不重视企业精神、打拼人生？ 单单从总统候选人资格认证这件事，总统选举委员会似乎告诉国人，企业精神、企业家、打拼人生，并不讨喜，份量不高，努力一生累积的经历，委员会看不上，因此，不够格。当然，这是依据宪法做出的的判断。 合格书的发出，也正反映出，新加坡不是一个企业创新的天堂，也没有适合创业、企业从小发展到大的环境，我们更加看重的是 打工皇帝的服务。 从部长到总裁，不需要努力创新，出尽脑力发展出一个企业。而是怎么样把现有的企业做大管好。 在某一个程度上，这是忽视、忽悠、羞辱、不重视企业精神。 星展集团总裁高博德在“重新创造命运：李光耀先生诞辰100周年会议”上指出，我国的 庞大储备金具有资本上的战略优势，政府应该利用这些储备金，创造竞争优势 。扩大在新领域、新行业的影响力，并且考虑在本区域进行长期投资。这样做需要冒更加大的风险，以及需要更加敏锐的企业眼光。 高博德也感觉到 新加坡越来越害怕失败 。我们越有钱，越害怕失去更多。“重新创造命运”命题，似乎变成一个伪命题，重什么新，创什么造？命运又如何改变。合格证书的发出，打压企业精神，认可打工皇帝，我们还是继续服务他人的老路。但是， 在老路上，你去哪里找一个李光耀，重新创造未来的新加坡？ 那么，哪一个候选人最像打工皇帝中的皇帝？尚达曼无疑是第一人选。他从来就没有离开政府、公务。人民行动党在国会的绝对优势，让他没有后顾之忧，发挥打工本色。黄国松长期在政府投资公司工作，后期才自行成立本身的投资公司，但是，继续和政府有生意上的往来。陈钦亮在职总英康打工时，把资产从2800万元，增加到170亿元。他已经离开职总英康超过15年。现在从事保险、投资、金融方面的咨询工作。 总统选举委员会的合格书， 尚达曼和黄国松是依据公共服务的基础发出。而陈钦亮则是以私人企业为依据，取得合格认证。 如果，这次总统选举，真的有一点企业精神的鼓励，那就是陈钦亮的加入选战。或许，他代表了半个企业家，安慰了没有取得资格的企业家吴振华。吴呼吁新加坡企业家要更加努力。

  Why President？Tharman Self, Party or State? Up to now, it is still not clear why Tharman wants to stand for president. He said in his letter to PM Lee that he wanted to be above politics and this was the best he could serve Singapore. On the surface, Tharman is for the state. He wants to continue the Singapore story.  He wants to unite the people. He also knows Singaporeans now have different, diverse views and face a turbulent world.    Can a president act as an agent for change? Not in Singapore.  Even to unify people and harmonise different views, not to mention the turbulent world challenges, all these are government jobs.  This is why people comment ‘da cai xiao yong’, a lost talent not in good use. A president cannot change economic, social, defence policies. Not like other hopefuls, he never talks about affordable housing, hardship, cost of living.  Perhaps, he knows these are topics PM Lee is going to touch on during the coming National ...
