这部电影在本地引发的震撼,远不止于银幕上的亲情与热泪。新加坡主流媒体随后拉起的集体防线——从《海峡时报》用冰冷的西方战略平衡理论解构中日历史宿怨,到《联合早报》紧绷地发表深度分析,警告国人“在欣赏艺术的同时,必须抽离情感,防范外部文化软实力的政治统战”——彻底把这场文化现象推向了地缘政治的暴风眼。

主流媒体的这种极度不自信与防御性恐慌,实际上在五十多年后,冷酷地戳破了一个建国神话:建国总理李光耀当年试图通过“彻底断根、去东方化”来改造新加坡华人的宏大实验,并没有完全成功。而当今历史走向的剧烈反转,正逼着第四代(4G)领导团队与全体国人,不得不重新认识自己。

早在1970年代初就已经被写下了谶语。在1971年轰动全岛的《南洋商报》事件中,主笔李星可因不满政府强力推行以英文为主导、全面压制传统华校与消灭方言的“去东方化”政策,利用报章阵地与李光耀政府展开了激烈的笔伐。当时,李星可扔下了一块重重的历史石头,痛斥那些为了迎合西方经济体制、不惜亲手斩断母语与方言根脉的精英阶层是“数典忘祖”。

如果中国没有崛起,或许李光耀当年的断根实验在技术上是“成功”的。但历史的无情之处就在于,它粉碎了完美的行政剧本。

在今天这个地缘冲突四起、讲求文化博弈和心理战的多极化黑天鹅时代,“重技能、轻文化”的精英体制弊端彻底暴露。我们要清醒地意识到,一个被割裂了历史与文化根基的治理团队,在面对真正的文明巨浪时,除了高喊“防范渗透”和“经济利益”之外,精神上其实一无所有。新加坡只有真正告别文化真空,用属于自己的、有历史厚度的文化底蕴托举起独立的主权,才能在这个多极化的丛林世界中,找到真正属于自己的坐标。

Is Prism Project Another Central Planning of the PAP?

There are 3 scenarios under the Prism Project#1 of Institute of Public Policy.  However, it looks more like the central scenario planning of the People’s Action Party. EBRC objectives: Stop “Out of Aljunied”, Stop SDP Breakthrough and “Negative-Asset” Ministers.

First of all, we have to congratulate the Electoral Boundaries Review Committee for creating more competitions, especially, multi-cornered competitions in the East. When making changes, EBRC aims to achieve 3 goals: To prevent “Out of Aljunied” for Workers’ Party.  This is the most important objective. To prevent Singapore Democratic Party making any breakthrough in the North and Central.   To look for a solution to retire “negative-asset” ministers or reduce PAP damages. From the reported claims from different political parties, we will expect multi-cornered contests not only in single constituencies but also in group representative constituencies. The PAP hopes to have a repeat of 2011 Presidential Election. Then Tony Tan won the Presidency when he got only 35% of the votes, a narrow win.However, a win is still a win.
