Who is Roy Crying for? Himself or Singapore?

Truth can only be revealed when there is a change of government. In the coming general election, voters must consider why Roy Ngerng is crying? Who is he crying for? As suggested by former prime minister, Goh Chok Tong, voters should not treat elections like ‘circuses, auctions, beauty contests, or tikam tikam randomly.’

Goh tried to paint a picture of uneducated, uninformed and poor judgement voters who will suka-suka randomly pick a candidate like buying a 4-D ticket. He failed to understand that it was because voters did not know the truth.  The only truth they had was from the mainstream media. Without knowing the truth, tikam tikam and suka suka become a random behaviour.  This randomness in the past had benefited the People’s Action Party.

What is a truth? For example, the 2-dollar AIM saga.  If there is no change of town council management, we would not know AIM is a $2 company as well as the awarding details of the computer contract.  In the defamation case, PM Lee under Roy’s cross examination seemed to suggest ‘the quotes are factual but the article is not.’ PM Lee also refuses to argue about the truth#1.

Roy is courage enough to write about Central Provident Fund and others.  He is working very hard to inform the public. But like the AIM saga, we can only know the truth when there is a change of management. If we really want to see the real truth book of CPF, reserve, Temasek, GIC, HDB and others, the only option is to vote the PAP out.

It was widely reported that Roy Ngerng broke down and cried on the third day of the assessment of damage of his defamation case (LHL v. Roy). Who is he crying for?

It is a personal case between two private individuals. So, naturally, Roy is crying for himself. As a jobless citizen, he is worried about the high damage that PM Lee is asking for. He is also worrying about the financial burden on his family.  Maybe they have to downgrade their flat to pay for the very high damage. Maybe he will have to file for bankruptcy.

It was also reported that Roy is assisted by his non-legal trained 4-member team and on the PM side, he has one of the best legal teams in Singapore. Just look at this imbalance of legal expertise, can Roy not cry? It is a case of ordinary citizen against a titan. One will need extraordinary strength and courage to fight against a titan.

It adds salt to the injuries when PM Lee’s lawyer tried to score points by saying there were foreign influences on Roy. What influences? Roy gets legal assistance and financial assistance to fly over to London for his case’s advisory.

Singapore has moved from the third world to the first world under SG50 as claimed by the PAP government. It is a shame that we still has the mindset of the past. Has Singapore really progressed? Perhaps, Roy is crying for Singapore.

As a first world country, Singaporeans are richer; are better educated; and have more access of information through internet and social media.  However, the ruling PAP government still wants to maintain a one-party state.

The PAP has failed to realise social media is a new territory. The PAP claims Singapore is an exception. Singapore is different from others. The PAP ruled-Singapore has her own liberal democracy. So do the PM? His ‘the quotes are factual but the article is not.’ is also an exception.

In the Art of War#2, he may also be an exceptional leader too.

PM Lee is suing Roy at his personal capacity. In the Art of War, Sun Zi said a commander must always put his state and soldiers first. He is the secretary general of the PAP, has he considered deeply the implication of his action? Even though it is a personal action in name, will it affect the performance of the PAP in coming general election?
It is strange that he is asking for high damage at a personal capacity but putting his party at risk.  He is putting his reputation above his party’s reputation. Has he consulted members of the PAP, especially those standing for elections?  Whether his personal action will affect the winning chances of PAP candidates?

In VII Maneuvering of the Art of War, Sun Zi said, ‘When you surround an army, leave an outlet free. Do not press a desperate foe too hard.’ When Roy offered him compensation last year.  PM Lee rejected as it was too low. He has blocked all the exits for Roy as there is no free outlet.  This is against Sun Zi advice. When there is no free outlet, Roy can only fight back.

In VIII Variation in Tactics, Sun Zi said, ‘There are five dangerous faults which may affect a general:
(1) Recklessness, which leads to destruction;
(2) cowardice, which leads to capture;
(3) a hasty temper, which can be provoked by insults;
(4) a delicacy of honor which is sensitive to shame;
(5) over-solicitude for his men, which exposes him to worry and trouble. ‘

Interesting, one of dangerous faults is matching the defamation case - a delicacy of honor which is sensitive to shame.

Over emphasis of honor will lead to shame.

The PAP as a political party that wants to continue ruling Singapore has to think twice what kind of leader is PM Lee. Is he an asset or liability in the coming general election? Soon we will know the result. Perhaps, Roy’s crying and other high profile social media cases will make an exceptional difference here.

Sub-standard PAP and the Singapore education system

I make a 'policy shift' when I hear the debate of right politics, constructive politics and sub-standard opposition. My original aim is to discuss about “Su Dongbo, Zhang Juzheng and Singapore education system”. The discussion will end with a sub-standard PAP, in particular from the assessment of the quality of PAP potential candidates. Another policy shift is to discuss it like a play, a drama and make it more entertainment rather than a sub-standard political discussion. Act 1 Gangster’s demand Imagine a sense in the Hong Kong's gangster movie (or a godfather movie), the gangsters' master is shouting at his poor opponent and demand him to give a price for his wrong act. The poor guy without any resources can only offer his body or his service to work for the master. Back in his own chamber, the master is still not satisfied and continues to shout 'don't play, play, you think you are hero, you think you are tiger, or superstar or acting
